IF/MM: SPRING

It didn’t take long for me to decide how to tie my Mythic Monday theme with this week’s Illustration Friday topic: Spring. It still managed to take up more of my time than I intended...
Above is pictured the reemergence of Persephone.
In Greek mythology she is the beautiful young daughter of Zeus and Demeter (Goddess of the harvest). When Hades (King of the underworld) abducts Persephone to be his bride, Demeter goes into a great depression and the earth itself grows cold and ceases to be fertile. Hades Reluctantly agrees to return Persephone to the surface world, but only for 2/3 of the year. He binds her to the underworld by having her eat the seeds of a pomegranate.
I wonder what happens if she sees her shadow...
